Our July 2016 production will be Blithe Spirit by Noel Coward and will be directed by Linda Harris. Join us at the play reading to find out more about the show and then see us at the auditions to get involved!

Play Reading

Thursday 21st April at 8pm at the Hut.

This will be an informal social gathering to drink tea, read the play and find out more about what roles both on and backstage we have available. This isn't just for actors, everyone is welcome so please come along to see the gang and find out how you can be involved in our July production.

Auditions

Tuesday 26th & Thursday 28th April at 8pm at the Hut.

You only need to come to one of the above not both, but you're welcome to come to both if you'd like to. The audition itself will be fairly informal. You'll be asked to read for our director Linda and the other members of our casting committee and then it's off to the pub! 

The Play

We will be performing Blithe Spirit by Noel Coward. ATG has performed several of Coward's plays in the past, most recently Rumours in 2015 and three short plays from his Tonight at 8.30 collection in 2013.

Blithe Spirit
A comedy by Noel Coward

Cantakerous novelist Charles Condomine invites the eccentric medium and clairvoyant, Madame Arcati, to his house to conduct a séance, hoping to gather material for his next book. The scheme backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his annoying and temperamental first wife, Elvira. Elvira makes continual attempts to disrupt Charles's marriage to his second wife, Ruth, who cannot see or hear the ghost. As Elvira and Charles continue to clash Ruth is accidentally killed, "passes over", joins Elvira and the two "blithe spirits" haunt the hapless Charles into perpetuity.

Blithe Spirit has 7 cast members - two men and five women.

Sat 16th July - set build
Sun 17th July - dress and tech
Tues 19th July - dress rehearsal
Thurs 21st July - performance
Fri 22nd July - performance
Sat 23rd July- performance
Sun 24th July - set strike
