The 2014 Awards

Held on 20th September 2014 at the Hall

The evening

Guests arrived in their finery and went straight to the Ice Bar where Louise and Nicola served up Ice Blue Lagoon welcome cocktails, then Martin L, our resident photographer, papped them with our giant Oscar and flames! Then it was mingling before sitting down to dinner at 7:30.  As is tradition, Christine sang the opening number which was a marvelous mash up of Broadway Baby and If They Could See Me Now before we settled down to our starter and the first award announced by our brilliant MC for the evening Jay.

Ali and Kimberley had us giggling with their two old ladies sketch. The Best Supporting Actress award followed and then our main course of pork in a cider casserole or chicken tarragon . Ali was back up on stage straight afterwards, this time with Catherine for another funny sketch/song Nobody Does it Better in which they both had lots and lots of babies, including one live delivery!

Our best newcomers were crowned - we had to split the award into male and female this year as we've had so many new members in the last two years, what a great position to be in! Then we had an amazing array of desserts to choose from, all made by our members, many thanks to everyone who brought their creations along, particularly to Carolyn who made goegeous fire and ice cup cakes.

Keith was crowned as our Best Director and then Catherine sung a comedy version of Let it Go from Frozen which was hilarious! We followed up with our Best Actor awards and then the Committee performed their ghetto rendition of I Wanna Be a Billionaire complete with rap by Gee and break dancing by Martin C, it was definitely a sight to be seen!

After the presentation of our special awards to Calum, Shep and Carolyn, Jay lead us all in the ATG Anthem which he had updated for 2014. Then DJ Martin C was on the decks until midnight and a good boogie was had by all. What a fantastic night!
