Open Auditions for Communicating Doors

Thursday 11th & Tuesday 16th November 2021

Following some fantastic play readings our programme for the next year is shaping up nicely, which is so exciting after our two year hiatus! Our first production will be Communicating Doors by Alan Ayckbourn to be directed by Jeremy Nicholls and performed in March 2022. Here's all the info you need:

Open Auditions

Thursday 11th & Tuesday 16th November at 8pm at the Hall (please enter via the side gate and head for the Green Room out the back)

We are keen to welcome new members so feel free to come along even if you haven't been a member of ATG in the past. Our auditions are not scary formal affairs. You'll be asked which roles you want to audition for and then we'll all read passages of the play as a group, with different people being given the chance to read at various points as we go through. Then it's off to the pub for a well earned pint. There are two audition dates but you only need to come to one.

The Play

We will be performing Communicating Doors - a time-travelling comic thriller - by Alan Ayckbourn.

Synopsis

Poopay, a dominatrix, arrives at an elderly Reece's hotel room, but Reece doesn't want Poopay's usual services. He wants her to witness a confession to the murders of his two previous wives Ruella and Jessica. Poopay flees through a communicating door in the hotel room only to find herself 20 years in the past! Can she escape with her own life and go back through time to rescue Ruella & Jessica before they are killed?
