Twas the night before Christmas and all over the house, spooks were stirring...

Welcome to Creeching Cheyney, a 1950s faded, eerie mansion where ghostly goings-on are a common occurrence. Into this creepy abode come the unsuspecting Budgett family – the domineering Alathea and her husband Herbert with their daughter Belinda and her boyfriend Cyril. They are greeted by the old and rambling butler, Gripe, who is surprised to learn that his master, Mr Desmond Cheyney has died abroad and his vast fortune is to be passed to the family. Everyone is even more surprised to learn that under the terms of the will they are obliged to spend a year living at the mansion – if they dare!

As the snows falls and the night draws in the group are joined by other weary travellers – a fugitive cowgirl, a smooth-talking film producer and his efficient secretary, the family lawyer and even a homicidal Native American. Throw in a few ghostly apparitions and the night is set for chills and thrills, romance and laughs!

Doors open at 7:30pm, please don't plan to arrive before 7:30pm because we may still be setting up and will have to ask you to wait outside for safety reasons.

Seating is around tables of eight, please feel free to bring your own drinks and nibbles. We've seen people with picnics and vases of flowers and all sorts in the audience before now so bring your friends and a bottle of something and make a night of it!

Tea and coffee is available during the interval.

Disabled access and toilets are available, please let us know when you arrive if you would like any help.

Food Bank Collection at Laughter in the Dark

Some of you may remember that last year at our November show we collected food donations for Croydon Food Bank, and this year we would like to do so again. When you arrive at the show there will be a box near the back of the hall for donations, if you are able to contribute something we should be very grateful.

Croydon Food Bank are particularly in need of the following items:

• Tinned fruit, soup, meat (e.g. hot dogs, luncheon
meat, corned beef) and sweet corn
• Cooking sauces
• Bottled squash and fruit drinks
• Coffee
• Nappies
• Toilet rolls
• Toiletries – shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant,
tissues
• Tinned tomatoes, vegetables, fruit and soup
• Rice and pasta
• Sugar
• Cereals
• Puddings and sweets
• Jams and preserves
• Biscuits and snacks
• Baby food

There is also a campaign at the moment to donate Christmas items to food banks such as children's advent calendars, Christmas puddings and chocolates, so any of these would be welcome as well.
